Training Days

Community Legal Centres NSW coordinates training days to assist staff of our member centres to access professional development. This usually includes two Management Training Days and two Legal Training Days annually, scheduled following our Quarterly network events. Community Legal Centres NSW also provides induction training and resources for new workers and volunteers.

We also work in collaboration with the College of Law in Sydney which offers an annual Practice Management Course specifically for community lawyers.

We assist rural, regional and remote centres to hold an annual roadshow.

Information about training events are sent to members in the month prior to the training, usually via our member newsletter Off the Record.

CPD Points

Sessions are not accredited by the NSW Law Society. Community legal centre solicitors should make their own assessment of whether the session meets their CPD requirements, and maintain their own records for meeting CPD requirements. Further information about CPD requirements are available on the Law Society NSW website.

Management Training Days cover content relevant to centre Managers/Coordinators. Previous training days have included topics such as Leadership, Person Centred Supervision, Financial Management and Positive Leadership. Course content is responsive to member need.
